[生態]
線（Line_Parasite）は人間に寄生する。 複数の線状のものが常に伸縮しているため長さや個体数は測定不能。 寄生した人間(以下、対象)の生涯をかけて内面から蝕み、最終的には外見も変化させる。 栄養源などは必要とせず、対象の体内を食すこともない。ハリガネムシに酷似した生態だが、決して命を奪うことはなく、生涯共存する。 線の目的は、「人間をコントロールし共存すること」だと仮定される。対象は、線のコントロールにより行動を制限されるが、意識や感情は元の人格のまま残り続けるため会話も可能(どこから音を発しているのかは不明。線と線の軋む音で発音しているという説もある)。侵入経路は不明。

[Ecology]
Line (Line_Parasite) are parasitic on humans. The length and number of individuals cannot be measured because they are constantly expanding and contracting. 今回の調査により、線の侵入経路の一例が確認できた。 前回の記述ではハリガネムシに似た生態だと仮定されていたが、ここ数日の線の動きにより、新たに"ロイコクロリディウム"に似た生態であることが判明した。 ロイコクロリディウムはカタツムリに寄生する。カタツムリを洗脳して目立つ場所（葉の上等）へ連れて行き、鳥を誘うために派手な動きをして、カタツムリごと自分自身を食べさせる。これはロイコクロリディウムの繁殖の手段である。 ロイコクロリディウムの最終宿主は鳥であるのに対して、線の最終宿主は人間であると仮定される。 線は人間に行き着く前に、人間以外の生物へ寄生していることが判明した。それは、人間が普段口にする牛や豚、鳥、魚などである。 ロイコクロリディウムと線の違いは、"目立たないこと"。 人間＝賢い文明だと悟っている線は、目立てば目立つほど警戒され、食べる前に排除されることを知っている。そのため、なるべく目立たぬよう、静かに寄生している。人間に寄生した場合と違い、姿形までは変えないようだ。

Through this investigation, we were able to confirm an example of an intrusion route for Line. The previous description of the Line ecology was assumed to be similar to that of a wireworm, but the movement of the Line over the past few days has revealed a new ecology similar to that of "Leucochloridium". Leucochloridium parasitizes snails. They brainwash the snail to take it to a conspicuous place (e.g., on a leaf), make a showy move to attract the bird, and then feed themselves and the entire snail to the bird. This is Leucochloridium's means of reproduction. The final host of Leucochloridium is assumed to be a bird, whereas the final host of the Line is assumed to be a human. The Line was found to be parasitic on non-human organisms before ending up in humans. These include cows, pigs, birds, and fish that humans normally eat. The difference between Leucochloridium and the Line is that it is "inconspicuous." Line realizes that humans = a smart civilization, so it knows that if it is conspicuous, it will be warned and eliminated before it can eat. Therefore, it quietly parasitizes as inconspicuously as possible. Unlike the case of being parasitic on humans, it seems that there is no change in appearance.

人間によく似た生物である猿にも、線の寄生を確認した。現在事例は2件だが、今後増えていく可能性もあるため慎重に調査を進める。 侵入経路としては、猿が食す果物等に偶然張り付いていたのか、人間と勘違いして寄生したのか、断定はできず未だ不明である。

[postscript]
We were able to confirm the parasitism of Line in monkeys, a creature that closely resembles humans.
